Product Description

A proper brew- pure and simple. We pay fair prices for really good tea from farms in Africa and India, to make a lovely blend that’s big on flavour, seriously refreshing and kind to the people who grow it. Our family business was founded in 1886 in Harrogate, one of the nicest towns in Yorkshire (though we might be a bit biased)! We’re still family owned today and we work hard to stay true to our love of fairness, flavour and quality. We work extremely hard to build long-lasting relationships with the people who grow our tea. We pay sustainable prices and a premium for quality, we regularly visit the farms and co-operatives we buy from and we invest in their communities and their environment to help ensure both are thriving and resilient. In short, we strongly believe in ethical trading.

Ingredients

Black Tea

Directions

Use water that has boiled just once — any more than that and the oxygen level in the water is reduced, which can cause your tea to taste a bit ‘flat’. In a mug: Pour the freshly boiled water directly onto your tea bag in the mug. This way the tea infuses better than when you add the tea bag to the water. Leave to ‘brew’ for 2–3 minutes, according to your taste. Remove the bag with a spoon giving it just one squeeze. Add sugar/sweetener and milk, if desired.

Marxist supporting company — AvoidWe all like a cuppa and i used to buy their tea in bulk — but i do not approve of any company telling me what i should think and having to become a Marxist to drink their tea. So like many other will for evermore avoid their tea, plenty of alternatives out there, which there would not be if the Marxists and this organisation got there way.

Simply the best teaEven with 50% of Lancastrian blood in my veins, I have to admit that Yorkshire Tea is by far the best tea available in most supermarkets. These 1040 bags are excellent value for money and when ordered on Amazon Subscription, the chances of running out are reduced. No more having to drink inferior tea from the local shop until you next stock up on your Yorkshire Tea! Without want to start another War of the Roses, use fresh water every time you make your brew. Never re-boil water within the kettle! (And to be kinder to the environment, only fill the kettle with enough water for your cup/teapot!) Use boiling water (not 90/80/60 deg !!) and add to the cup with your tea bag in (or a teapot that has been pre-warmed). Set your timer for 4mins (soft water), 4mins 30secs (hard water). Any longer with hard water and a scum/film will appear on your brewed tea. Add your milk and sugar after it has brewed. So long as you’ve used Yorkshire Tea, you’ll have the perfect cuppa.

Perhaps not the usual high quality?I bought this huge bag of 1050 teabags for delivery to France as decent teabags here are difficult to find in the shops. Had to pay postage to France as not covered under Amazon’s free delivery but still worked out to be quite a good deal. Delivery was quick and well packed. On opening the massive bag, was a little surprised at the way in which the bags were haphazardly packed. Just tossed in the bag with not the usual impeccable arranged packing found in smaller batches but I suppose this is to be expected considering the nature of the packaging. The double teabags looked identical to other teabags in a small box we had purchased in UK and brought back to France and using a precision electronic weighing machine we confirmed that the weight of each teabags was identical to those purchased in UK. The doubts about the quality of the teabags started after the first brew when we noticed a distinct difference in the flavour and strength compared to the known high-quality bags we had already in our possession. We tried allowing more time for the bags to brew, but the result was the same. We have now resorted to using 3 teabags to obtain a decent mug of tea for 2 people. We use just the right amount of water in the pot to obtain exactly 2 smallish mugs of tea. So, my question has to be: Are these teabags the usual TOP quality or have they been degraded and put aside during a quality testing process? If this is the case, this should be clearly marked on the packaging and mentioned in the Amazon description.

Yorkshire. World famous for Tea.Bloody lovely tea. As you pass south through Lofthouse, and then Ramsgill, past the Gouthwaite Reservoir, and on towards Pately Bridge, and maybe even as far as Harrogate… you can see on moors to the left and the right. Here it is… tea, growing on the slopes. And you can feel all that’s good about England. About Yorkshire. Who’d have thought this delicate herb would grow here, on the windswept crags of the Yorkshire moors. But it’s there. For all to see. Jus gerrabox.Bye’eck.Stick kettle on, I’ll the back in a mo.

Yorkshire Tea BagsThis is my favourite brand of tea by far and it’s also my boyfriend’s favourite brand of tea. I know some people will say tea is just tea but you really can tell the difference. I don’t normally get to have this brand very often because our local shop doesn’t sell it. I’m disabled so the furthest I can get to on my own is the local shop. I normally only get to have this tea if a family member goes out and buys it for me. The nearest shop that sells it requires a car or public transport to get to. I can’t drive or use public transport because of my disability. My boyfriend gave me the idea of looking for this tea on Amazon and I’m very glad he did because I found it on Amazon for a really good price. Because of how many tea bags you get in the pack this will last me at least a year. Even if I had 3 mugs of tea a day which is more than I normally drink it would still last a year. This tea is really good value for money and I would definitely recommend it. It’s the nicest brand of tea I have ever tried and I have tried a lot of different brands.

Why The Difference in Strength?I have been buying these one cup tea bags for some time. However the latest purchase is very disappointing. The bags come in pairs, the problem is one bag is normal strength the other far weaker. Why? I am taking this up with Taylor’s of Harrogate the company behind Yorkshire Tea.

  7. LindaMR

So we had a cuppa tea…I like tea. I like tea a lot. And Yorkshire Gold Tea, is in my opinion one of the best there is. It is my absolute favourite. The taste is, I don’t know… Just that bit better than the others, and I’ve probably tried them all! Strong with out being tannin‑y. Fresher, and it takes less time to brew to perfection than others. It is also more expensive than regualar Yorkshire tea, or a certain brand beloved by Chimps! Or the one that goes Oooo.…So I was delighted to find these. 5 packs of 80, so they stay fresh, have a long best before (Dec 19). And work out at around 3p a bag. And delivered to the door! What more can I say?

  8. fatmaxtaffy

Still one of the best!Item arrived in timely manner. Amazon Box not strong enough and was well split open. The tea to me is still one of the best on the general market and very consistent. Many are tasty sometimes and stewy at other but I have found Yorkshire all good. I know tea, like coffee, is very personal tastes, but for me I always enjoy this one, and have used it for many years. I have tried many blends and makes but always come back to Yorkshire. This bulk bag is good value too and will keep us going for a while. 5* No Problems

Who would’ve guessed you get tea when you buy tea.I’m not sure what to write really. I mean what do you expect from a bag of tea? The bag is much bigger than I was expecting it to be, to me this isn’t a downside, I mean it houses 1K tea bags. The bag has about an extra 10% head room that technically takes up space but you could fold it over and push it against something. As for the rest it was in date not that it really matters, tea leaves are dried, if you keep them dry they should last a fair while. They taste just like Yorkshire tea, what a massive surprise. Tea for the most part is tea, I got what I bought, not a whole load to write home about.

  10. Creamkate

Yorkshire Gold?I am not going to give a review lower than three stars, however I really don’t like the taste of these Yorkshire Gold tea bags.I have had them before and liked them but thsee just didn’t taste the same somehow.I have been drinking Yorkshire tea for nearly 30 years and won’t buy other blends. I have had a couple of packs that didn’t taste great but that was individual packages. I got five packs of these and went through one pack and wasn’t too happy with the taste, then opened a second which again were the same flavour. I have given the others away and bought myself a regular pack of Yorkshire tea. I opened them today and have had 2 lovely cups of tea from it.I am very discerning with tea and there are very few teas I can pallet and these from Amazon haven’t been amongst them.May be others enjoy their distinct flavour hence 3 stars and not less
