About the Author

Martha Mumford has loved children’s books forever. Shhh! Don’t Wake the Royal Baby is her first children’s picture book and she is delighted to be working with Bloomsbury. Martha loves baking, patchwork and has a mild obsession with interiors magazines (although she freely admits that the ideas she has found therein have yet to be translated to the interior of her own home!). Martha lives in Berkshire with her husband and young daughter.

My granddaughter adored it!My 2 year old granddaughter absolutely adored this book instead of an Easter egg. In fact her older sister put her egg down to read the book to her little sister! Fabulous book. She loved all the lift up flaps.

  2. Miss R

BrilliantLove this book!!! I work in an SEN school and at our school like most schools were going on a bear hunt is a huge favourite. So this book is great and the kids don’t take long to get the hang of the story and join in! Able to create lots of relatable activities to the story too.

Beautiful illustrationsArrived with a big footprint on the box, and the book spine was bent, not a problem as it was replaced asap by Amazon (v pleasing) The books is based on the v familiar format of ‘we’re going on a bear hunt’ so the children in class picked up on the repetition immediately! The illustrations were lovely and the children recognised it was by the same person who drew another of their favourite stories ‘There’s a pig up my nose’ A lovely new ‘favourite’ book for Easter.

  4. Elizabeth

A big hit with my toddler! This series of books are lovely for an interactive read for younger children — my toddler loves this one and the children in my class (4/5 year olds) enjoy them too! The illustrations are charming and detailed — it makes a great gift too!Be warned, you’ll be reading it on repeat!!!

  5. ClareHad

Beautiful book but seems familiar…I was initially disappointed this book seems to be a big rip off of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt (and there is no reference to it at the beginning!) but this is now one of my two year old daughter’s favourite books. Beautiful illustrations with flaps hiding eggs to find, she asks for it at bedtime every night! Perfect Spring read.

  6. Tracy

Simple non religious Easter story. What a cute story although I think it’s a bit young for my grandsons 4&5 it was good that my 5 year old was able to read some of it. The story is same set up as bear hunt. One down side the flaps are not very strong and after one gentle reading the flaps are already showing wear. That’s why I’ve given a 4 star. If flaps were stronger it would be five all the way.

  7. Amazon Customer

Engaging bookAbsolutely love this book. I bought if for my sons for Easter. The little flaps make the book enjoyable and keeps them engaged to the end. We also have the ‘we’re going on an elf chase’ which was a hit at Christmas time

  8. Fun12

Love this book!!Love this book!! Brought it for my 6 year old as an Easter present, the book is just beautifully illustrated and each page has a flap with a picture of an egg behind it! Little one loves it!!

  9. HP

Lovely bookI bought this for my son (18 months) at Easter and he really loves it; he frequently asks to read it and really enjoys lifting the flaps to discover what’s behind each one.It follows the theme of ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ and has lovely illustrations.I would recommend it.

  10. Kindle Customer

Lovely Easter book for a small childMy one year old loved this for Easter. Didn’t want to get him a lot of chocolate so the Easter Bunny left this and he’s loved lifting the flaps to find the eggs and pointing at all the animals. Beautifully illustrated
