No phone in the box!!!I purchased one of these. Arrived on Friday. All excited etc. Opened the box and everything was in the box apart from the handset. Get it sorted Amazon.Update 08/05 After waiting for 8 days and several times contacting Amazon finaly I am going to get my refund. No apologies, no explanations, no goodwill gesture. There is your refund and shut up. I always had great service with Amazon but this time my experience was absolutely awful. I hope others will get their refunds too. So I am scared to order another one.Update 21/05 After waiting and thinking found that this mobile phone reduced by £20 and thought let’s try again. Ordered on Monday and delivered on Wednesday. My heart was pumping really fast while I was opening the box. I opened the Amazon box and found the mobile phone box was wrapped with clear plastic and I could breathe normal. Yes I did this time receive the full thing. Great mobile for the price. Still early days but so far so good.Update 24/09. After using it long term I’ve discovered that when making & receiving calls and listening to WhatsApp voice messages the screen turns itself off and it’s a nightmare trying to end a call sometimes it’s so bad I have to restart the device in order get the screen back on. I did a little research and I wasn’t alone. Apparently it’s to do with proximity sensor which couldn’t be fixed with a software update. Also the camera wasn’t great. My 3 years old Moto g6 plus takes better pictures. It’s a speedy device though. So unfortunately I had to send it back.

Great phone, despite being priced cheap.Really wanted the Mi 11 but couldn’t justify the cost, then along came the Poco F3. Have to say it’s pretty impressive so far.Battery wasn’t so impressive to start with, but then new phones do tend to drain a bit with all the background setup going on. Today however the battery seems to be doing much better.Phone feels really premium, would be mistaken for something that costs far more and is a complete powerhouse.Camera is also pretty impressive, plenty of settings to adjust to your liking. Granted it isn’t exactly a flagship camera, but it is far better than you might think. The screen is top notch, have it set at 120Hz, although not sure if my eyes notice the difference as drastically as most apparently claim. Was really worried about the empty box issue that is mentioned in the review’s, so took the precaution of videoing the unboxing, the actual phone box should have a protective cellophane like wrapper, which mine did. But it’s advisable to film the box it arrives in and all the way until you know the phone is present. Unlikely a seller issue, more so a problem in certain Amazon warehouses, especially where their are temps or agency workers unfortunately. All in all though I got lucky. Great phone, great price and arrived on time. This phone is definitely recommended, especially if like me you want something at the top of the processing power charts but don’t want to spend stupid money on something that you are likely to replace in 2–3 year’s or possibly break. For anyone who buys their phones outright without going the contract route this is the phone, unless you do really, really need a more powerful camera. Saying that you could buy this phone and buy a dedicated camera that is better than a phone camera for less than something like an iPhone or Samsung anyway. Will report back more when owned longer. As for the standby battery drain I can confirm that is fixed, I lose 3% overnight. Also the reported screen dimming issue is only really an issue with Genshin Impact which I haven’t played. Have played a few games though and temps don’t seem to rise whatsoever and no dimming.

Pleasantly surprised!!!Great high spec smart phone for the money. I bought the Poco F3 to replace my Huawei P20 Pro which I’d dropped & damaged the OLED display. Only having a couple of months to go on my contract & wanting to move away from Huawei I was looking for a decent 5G SIM free phone that wasn’t going to break the bank. I’d always previously gone for flagship phones on contracts but no longer want to be tied to a costly contract. I had done a little bit of research & decided to go for a Google Pixel 4a, when I got the phone I was so disappointed it was smaller than I was expecting & felt very cheap compared to the Huawei I’d been using for the last few years. Needless to say the Google Pixel 4A went back. I started doing some more research & watched some reviews of budget phones on YouTube. That is when I came across Xiamoi. I’d never heard of them previously however they were getting pretty good feedback on line so was originally looking at the Mi10. I watched an unboxing video of the Poco F3 & it seemed to fit the bill perfectly. So I went for it and pre ordered even got a discount which was even better. It came a day earlier than expected and I have to day I am not disappointed. I was a bit dubious and wasn’t expecting much but have been pleasantly surprised. The gorilla glass front and back back makes it look like a premium phone that really does look smart and sleek. It’s got high specifications for the money I’ve found it really quick and responsive & the display is stunning. I compared to my husbands Samsung Galaxy Note 20 & I could hardly tell the difference. It actually looks & feels like Samsung although this is glass not plastic. The only down side for me is the camera. Being used the camera on the Huawei P20 Pro, the camera on the POCO F3 isn’t great. However the pictures are ok and can be edited to create half way decent shots. There is also no wireless charging but it doesn’t bother me, it comes with a fast charger that charges to 100% in about 45 minutes. If you are looking for a decent phone but don’t have the money to spend on a expensive brand this is a great alternative. Only had it just over week & really can’t fault it.

Amazing phone, when you eventually get one!I did initially receive a box with no device inside it. Heartachingly disappointing, however Amazon were quick to sort the issue and got a sealed device to me the next day. I’ve only knocked a star off for this reason. It looks like all the youtube reviewers and some reviewers on Amazon missed the included earbuds, they are tucked in a little side piece of cardboard next to the USB cable in the box. I must admit they weren’t easy to find in the packaging. They’re not the best, but they’ll do as a nice backup pair at least. The phone however, is absolutely stunning. Flagship level performance in most departments. Every day use is a breeze. The screen, the speakers, the speed is just incredible especially at this price.I thoroughly recommend this device, though maybe consider going direct to Xiaomi if you can wait for the slow delivery.

such a bargain, totally worth the moneyMy coworker recommended this phone to me when I said i am looking for a mid-range phone as i do not care about most features of the phone except camera. Camera is pretty decent, I love the side finger print reader, so handy. support google services, system is pretty fast. Thought it would be a downgrade for me since my last phone is one plus 7t, it actually turned out to be fancier (for example 5G and screen recorder, side finger printer reader…other functions i have not explored yet). I guess the bar is pretty high for smart phones these days. Totally worth the money and i strongly recommend.

  8. A Soul

EMPTY BOX!The phone I’ve eventually received seems great, I’d definitely recommend it. The value for money is incredible when you consider it’s on a par performance-wise with flagship phones of popular brands.HOWEVER: I originally received a package a day after the expected delivery date containing the Poco F3 box (which had clearly been opened as there was no plastic wrapper) and no phone inside. Amazon immediately sent a replacement the next day, but paying £300 for an empty box was pretty scary. This is clearly not an isolated incident as previous reviews indicate that the same thing has happened multiple times. If you look on eBay you can see boxless Poco F3 phones for sale, someone should probably look into that..

  9. Timothy S.

BargainHad the phone a few weeks. I don’t write too many reviews but through I would for the phone as everyone uses them all the time.Missing … No ear phone plug point (3.5mm jack) which is standard for hi spec phones it seems iPhone etc but still a pain in the rear end. Why not out it on it costs pence too add and would be useful. Also doesn’t have wireless charging. For me, no issue, pluggin in at night not too taxing and I plug it in the car for Android auto anyway so no issue.Good bits.Screen picture is brilliant, as good as the most expensive at least to the make eye for all precticale reasons it’s brilliant.Games I’m. It sure normal stuff is fine with no issues, if you want to use it like an Xbox then you need to read someone else’s review.Work stuff teams, Microsoft XL, word etc all brilliant run really well, PowerPoint is actually workable if you fingers are small enough or get external keyboard.Sound is very good very clear loud speakersCall quality is great although sometime switches to the main screen instead of blacking it out during calls but that could just be me, had the issue before.Battery life seems very good, day and a half although full day is all most people need. Does also have battery savers if you forgot to charge it and ultra battery saver which will last for days on little charge and lets you text and call.Still has built in infra red control which is a brilliant add on lets you change TV channel sound etc from your phone when you have lost the remote.Finger print on the power button, works brilliantly no issue. Face recognition works well usually before I have got to the finger print in the day.5g phone all be it I haven’t yet got the signal but thought would be useful when travelling. All the connection for earphones, car etc work very well very quick no messing around.Camera seems very good, has all the slow Mo, pan, etc etc and you can ofocurse add whatever size memory car you like.In all unless you need wireless charge it is every bit as good as the £1000 + latest I phone so why spend the money ?? Just buy and get a cheap contract sim only, you would be mad not too

Awesome phone, lacking very littleIn an age where flagships are absurdly expensive, this phone hangs with the best for much less money.Design is subjective, so I won’t talk much about this. I like the design, the night black colour is really nice but picks up fingerprints like crazy so I have a case on it. It comes with a clear case in the box, as well as a pre-applied screen protector. The camera module sticks out a bit, so a case is a good idea to protect it. Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back is also nice. The SD 870 is a great chipset, performing somewhere between last year’s 865+ and this year’s 888 meaning any game on the market right now is going to perform well at the highest settings. With the controversy surrounding the 888’s thermal and efficiency problems, the 870 seems to be the better pick. The internal cooling system also ensures the phone never gets too hot to touch during intense gaming sessions. The UFS 3.1 storage is also a noticeable boost in loading times compared to previous versions, something you won’t find in many other phones at this price range. The AMOLED 120hz display is great! Colour accurate, minimal ghosting (to my eyes at least) and the 360hz touch response rate makes the phone feel really responsive to the touch. It’s a Samsung panel, so quality is only just under if not on par with their own flagships like the Galaxy S21. The punch-hole camera is fairly unobtrusive to UI elements and watching videos thanks to its small size and centre placement.5G & 4G performs well with strong cell signal and clear call quality on both ends. I thought I’d need to turn off 5G for the battery to last till the end of the day, but thankfully that wasn’t the case. I do a lot of web browsing, video watching, social media, gaming and streaming music so I’d say I’m a moderate-to-heavy user, and this phone easily lasts me the whole day with 30–50% left at around 4–6 hours of SOT (120hz & 5G on, 60–100% brightness). Charging is fast, only taking ~52 minutes to charge fully. Coming from a OnePlus 7T and iPhone 12, the battery was noticeably better than both and on those phones I had to turn down some settings. Also yes, the fast charger is included in the box. How’s the camera? It’s fine. Decent actually. In good light you’re going to get very good photos from the main sensor that are close to flagship quality. Low light is much weaker, but it’s good enough with night mode in a pinch and frankly no flagship phone right now takes night photos I’d call ‘good’, just varying degrees of ‘better’. The ultrawide camera is generally worse than the main sensor, and while it can take acceptable photos I wouldn’t use it over the main sensor. The telemacro camera is my surprise favourite of the cameras, combining 2x zoom with a very close minimum focusing distance to allow for some cool macro shots. Quality is again worse than the main sensor, but it allows for shots not normally possible with a satisfying background blur and when used right can deliver some fantastic photos. People who use macro cameras to magnify small text on documents will find this useful. The front facing camera also delivers pretty decent photos, but won’t amaze anyone. I think the biggest compliment I can give the camera system is that I could rely on it to take the shots I wanted every time, and didn’t instantly want to put GCam on this.Video is a bit of a mixed bag due to the lack of OIS. At 1080p, video stabilisation is okay but not great and quality is average. At 4K, you lose the stabilisation and it becomes a shaky mess. I don’t tend to take many videos so this wasn’t a big deal for me, but I’d recommend sticking to 1080p60fps shooting modes for this phone. Filming in ultrawide and with the telemacro camera is also possible, and the Pro Mode lets you fine tune the shooting parameters to overcome some of auto-mode shortcomings and get the best shot possible out of the sensors. There is also support for shooting in RAW at either the binned 12mp or full 48mp resolutions. How’s the audio? There’s no headphone jack, but the included dongle outputs good quality sound. There’s support for pretty much every standard high quality and high efficiency audio codec, support for high-res audio and bluetooth connections with my earphones has been rock solid. The stereo speakers have Dolby Atmos and get very loud, with no noticeable distortion until the 70% mark which is when it’s way too loud anyway. They sound pretty good, you’re not going to be dissatisfied with the speakers. If you really want better audio, I’d recommend investing in a proper external/bluetooth speaker anyway since there’s only so much you can do with the small internal space of a phone. Compared to my prior iPhone 12 that had a similar speaker setup, I think these sound a little better. So what’s missing? The headphone jack, as previously mentioned, wireless charging (not a big deal for me, wired charging is plenty fast and it’ll last the day and the next without needing a top-off), no SD card slot and what may be the biggest omission for me, no official IP rating for water and dust resistance. I suspect it has some level of water resistance as the sim card tray has a rubber seal, but I wouldn’t test my luck. There is an IR blaster, though.Software is another mixed bag. Personally, I like the design of MIUI and there’s a ton of useful features baked in that stock android doesn’t have. Sure, there’s ads on by default in some areas of the OS, but they can be easily turned off with a single switch in the settings. At launch, there were many, many bugs and issues but a lot of them have been ironed out since. It’s been almost perfect for me, with the exception of a few issues with dark mode rendering text in some apps invisible (also fixable in the settings on a per-app basis) and gesture navigation not working with third party launchers. I understand this is an issue caused by Google and their lack of support for them in recent versions of Android, but it’s still frustrating. Thankfully, the default launcher is actually pretty customisable and feature filled so I’m not missing Nova launcher too much.Overall, this is a really good phone that excels in nearly every area. It has some omissions which I can get over, and the camera is only alright, but for the price you’re getting the full package with no major downsides. If you hate MIUI, installing a stock rom like the Pixel Experience rom will get you that clean android experience. If you want to squeeze more out of the camera, there’s GCam available. This phone puts the major flagships to shame for charging so much money for the almost the same experience. No regrets having switched from an iPhone 12/OnePlus 7T combo and intend to carry only this phone going forwards.
