From the manufacturer

2600 watt for fast heat up

Delivers fast warm up and powerful performance.

Ceramic soleplate

Our durable ceramic soleplate glides well on any ironable garment. It does not stick to your garment, is scratch resistant and easy to keep clean.

Continuous steam up to 40g/min

Strong and consistent steam output to remove creases faster.

Steam boost up to 200 gram

The strong steam boost gives you that extra power to penetrate deeper into the fabric and cut through the tough creases easily.

Drip stop

Our drip-stop system prevents leakage to avoid stains from water droplets, so you can iron with confidence at any temperature.

With the vertical steam function you can refresh garments right on the hanger and remove creases from hanging fabrics such as curtains. No ironing board required.

Triple precision tip

The tip is precise in 3 ways: it has a pointed tip, button groove and sleek nose design. Our triple precision tip helps you to handle even the hardest-to-iron spots, like buttons and pleats.

Built-in calc-clean slider

This iron operates with ordinary tap water. Calc-clean is a built-in cleaning function to remove calcium buildup, or limescale, and maintain peak performance.

300ml water tank

Fewer refills are required thanks to a large 300ml water tank. So you can iron more clothes in one go.

Extra-long 2.5 cord

An extra-long 2.5‑meter cord provides maximum reach to anywhere on the ironing board and convenience.

Good value for moneyI was after a good iron for a reasonable price and I think this is it. The steam function isn’t amazing but it’s good enough. I tend to use the steam boost a lot on my daughter’s uniform and I iron cotton in the linen setting.Looks nice and it’s light enough, so a good iron for the cost.

What can I say? This iron looked ideal. Unfortunately it would not heat up. Amazon refunded instantly — thank you . The outer packaging was fine but the actual box was battered; I suspect this item had suffered a nasty accident before it left the warehouse.

There is more to this iron than first meets the eye.Phillips is a well known brand which suggests quality. Given the printed material which accompanies this in so many languages it suggests this is a worldwide brand.Firstly this iron has a good look – a nice coloured blue. It has a solid feel without being too heavy or too light. When heating up the light on the body is orange and goes out once the temperature is reached — which seems to be pretty quick in heating up. The hole to fill with distilled water is covered with a hinged opening which seems strong. The settings for steam are off / eco / steam or cal clean to remove build up of scale. I found that the ‘eco’ setting produced enough steam for most of the ironing. Only upped the stream level for the most creased cotton materials. There is the usual two buttons on the top for extra focused steam, one for below and one for a ‘squirt’ forward. The instructions say you can use tap water or a mixture of this with distilled water in a hard water area. Because we are in a very hard water area I tend to use totally distilled water. Whenever, not ironing, the setting should always be to ‘no steam’.There are pretty comprehensive picture instructions and some brief printed ones or a large sheet in a number of languages. Although a bit tedious it is worth looking at and reading through both of these when you first get this iron as there are some useful, possibly new, features. It suggests ‘cal clean’ is used about once a month and there are clear pictorial instructions about the process. In addition this iron can do vertical ironing. Saves a separate iron for this purpose and such a boost in certain circumstances. The soleplate looks good and is scratch resistant. I don’t understand how it works but this iron has a ‘drip-stop system’ which will avoid stains from straying water drops. This has been the bane of some ironing experiences. There is a ‘triple pointed tip’ (specifics – pointed tip, button groove and nose design) which particularly helps with ironing around buttons and other hard to reach points. The 2 ½ metre cord is also helpful too!Currently at £29.99 with all the features mention I feel this is a good value for money iron.

  9. Amazing Customer

Just a good and simple iron to useI think this is probably the best iron I have had. It is substantial but not heavy. Easy to use, with good results, It’s incredibly quick at getting creases out, even with my old ironing board and cover.Big water tank and love the anti scale compartment.Excellent for Ironing shirts, beddings, etc Good weight, stem is excellent too.Says the cool down time is around 8 minutes, but that isn’t the case. Not a bug thing, as can leave it somewhere safe, but could be a bit misleading

A Good Quality IronThe first impression of this iron was of a good quality product. It is a little on the heavy side compared with some but often the lighter the iron the harder one needs to push to remove creases so the weight is acceptable and a plus point. The water tank has a decent capacity and is easy to fill. No need for jugs, I can just fill it directly under the tap.In use the first impression has been very good. The first items tested were two very large and heavy linen table cloths that had been washed ready for Christmas and Boxing Day and had completely dried with very heavy creasing. Unlike our old iron this one could reach the high temperature needed for linen and easily handles the heavy creasing. The steam level did not seem very high but I was comparing with an old steam generator iron and in practice there was enough steam to do the job with some occasional help from the button giving an extra pulse of steam on the heaver creased sections. I managed both very large clothes with one water filling as well. The iron also has a spray button but I have not needed to use it do far.Final point. It comes with a decent length of mains cable.
