Dual sensors make the difference

The best bread quality is thanks to having just the right temperature. Which is why the YR2550 uses two built-in sensors to determine both internal and external temperatures to optimise each programme along at every step. Whatever the climate conditions you enjoy the same delicious results every time.

Artisan-style kneading technique

The YR2550 brings the bakery to your home kitchen. The secret lies in innovative Panasonic technology, which replicates the kneading techniques of an artisan baker. The unique kneading blade works with the specially placed ribs in the bread pan to deliver the best-tasting bread with the ideal texture.

Possibly the best brand of bread machines on the marketI have used a number of bread machines from different manufacturers over the years, all of which had problems (mainly bread getting stuck in the cooking pot). I then bought an early model of Panasonic and never experienced the problem again. When at long last, it failed I bought this new model which has many useful features. Not least of these is the ability to make sourdough bread all the way from creating the starter through to the final loaf. The only slight “cons” are that it is quite large and heavy if you want to move it.

Excellent Bread MakerWe’ve really enjoyed this bread maker since getting it a month ago. We have made around 20 loaves including white, wholemeal, fruit and brioche. The different crusts have all been tried and we haven’t had a bad loaf yet. The rapid function produced bread as good as the 4 hour one.I would definitely recommend this machine.

Great BreadmakerI’ve been using a cheaper Morphy Richards bread maker for a couple of years. With that machine and new recipes, I always struggled for a few loaves to get the amount of yeast right. Even then it can be temperamental. The Panasonic worked first time, straight out of the box. Easy to follow instructions and the bread has been perfectly produced each time. Possibly the difference is the separate and controlled addition of yeast by the machine? Either way, definitively worth the extra cost. The only downer is you can’t see the bread whilst it’s baking and have to wait until the end of the programme. But having said that, it’s been getting it right every time so far.

Great productVery easy to use, just add ingredients, yeast in a separate compartment. Do the setting and go. Makes great bread so far. Expensive, but would recommend it.

It makes good bread but..I bought this to replace an aging model. This time around I thought I’d go for one with a fruit/nut dispenser. I’ve only used it once and never bothered again. This model has a yeast dispenser as well and I’ve stopped using that. Bad points:* Fruit dispenser and yeast dispenser get dirty and are difficult to clean.* Yeast dispense makes several loud clicks as it operates. Loud enough to wake me up in the morning.* Twice went to open the lid to insert the bread pan and the top cover was loose resulting in yeast spilling everywhere.* The LCD display is not backlit. The important point is that it makes good bread but honestly, I preferred my older unit. This unit has the feel of Panasonic trying too hard, perhaps to entice existing owners to upgrade. Well if that’s you — don’t bother. I now make bread the way I always used to — yeast and dry ingredients first, then flour, then olive oil. I’m currently looking to see if it’s easy to disable the yeast dispenser so that it doesn’t wake me up.

Superb . Unbelievable breadThis is just the best thing since sliced bread . I am literally blown away by it . Beautiful bread . Perfect size and bake every time. Cuts perfectly without collapsing . The taste is amazing ..soooo much better then shop bought bread . I wish there was a recipe for granary though . I read other reviews and was a bit sceptical but now I am a total convert. Even the whole that the kneading blade makes is tiny …I was absolutely delighted. Go for it …you won’t be disappointed. Well done Panasonic…and thankyou !

Best bread machine I have ever hadI had hesitated buying this Panasonic breadmaker because of the price but got tempted by the black Friday discount. I have no regrets at all, this is worth it. I made my first loaf today and it is the best loaf I have ever got out of a bread machine. Superb texture and taste. I have had a number of cheap breadmakers in the past and now I understand how basic they were. If like me, you enjoy nice bread, do not hesitate. This breadmaker is more than great value for money.

Best breadmakerI bought this breadmaker as a replacement for a different brand one that had just burned out. I’m willing to confess it was worth the extra cost. The paddle comes out of the loaf every time — no more digging around with a knife to extract it. I like the dispensers for seeds/nuts/fruit and for yeast. My previous one had the seed one but not the yeast one. The bucket is a reasonable size, much the same. I’ve learned to make the small size of everything, otherwise the bread won’t fit in my toaster.I’ve tried several of the recipes now. The wait at the beginning of some programs flummoxed me for a bit, until I went back to the leaflet and looked at the stages for the various settings. I don’t need gluten-free recipes so many of the programs I will never use, but that’s my luck. Occasionally the loaf sinks in the middle, that appears (as the problem-solving section suggests) to be because my flour sometimes needs less water than the recipe says.Overall a very good buy.

Timer Not as StatedAdvertising indicates it is a timer for all functions. It isn’t. It’s a selective timer and when used the baking time doubles. For standard bread loaf the Basic setting has timer, overall time 4hr 5min. Basic Rapid setting for a loaf has no timer but overall time 2hr. Timer is only on 11 functions. Do not see why a timer cannot be on all bread loaf programs. The Bread Maker is double the size of our old one for the same size bread pan! That’s progress I suppose but if it lasts as long as our old Panasonic of 20 years, used twice a week and at times more then that will be fine.Happy to recommend the supplier but the Panasonic advertising is misleading. Will give it 4 stars based upon anticipation Panasonic reliability is as good as it has been and apart from timer, all looks well!
