Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate Powder contributes to a growth in muscle mass and the maintenance of muscle mass and normal bones.* It is an excellent source of protein for all athletes, bodybuilders and fitness models. It is created from the highest quality whey proteins which undergo a series of sophisticated filtration processes to ‘isolate’ out excess fat, and carbs. Some of the Whey Protein Isolate is then hydrolysed – broken down into smaller chains of amino acids. The final product is a complete protein containing no more than 0.3 g of sugars, 0.4 g of fat and 83% of pure protein per serving. In each serving, there is also 5.5 g of naturally occurring essential amino acids, BCAAs.
Use Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey Protein Isolate before training to promote the growth of lean muscle mass*, after training to support your recovery or any time a day as a delicious protein shake. The label looks different compared to the previous one I got, is it still the same OPTIMUM NUTRITION product?

As you evolve, so do we. The part of our mission is to help active individuals better understand OPTIMUM NUTRITION products. Now choosing the right product for you is easier with more visible product benefits, features and flavours on each tub.

Why my tube is only 2/3 full?

Due to vacuum packing some of the tubs may appear to be two thirds full when opened. This is normal as the powder settles and does not impact on or decrease the weight or number of serves listed on the label.

What is the best way to prepare my sport nutrition drink?

For optimal use, follow serving instructions on pack.

Sealing is suspiciously brokenIt is the first time I buy this protein in my life. I’ve read the nutrition information and checked the reviews and bought the product. Now I’ve got a protein which suspiciously unsealed. The picture is clearly shows the very small hole on top of the sealing. It is very likely that a syringe needle has been implied because the area around the hole is deformed outward. I’m really concerned how food authorities are not controlling these sensitive products. I’ll never use this supplier and I’ll follow this case seriously because it’s directly connected to body and its health.

Taste is awful 🤮I always have whey isolate chocolate flavour but this time something is not quite right. Taste is awful and not sure if it is the real product or some fake powder. The label peels off really easily which made me feel suspicious. Usually I’m quite cool with any flavour but this one gives me 🤮

Not ON’s quality product that we are use toI normally buy this off ON’s website but they were out of stock so I ordered off amazon for the time being. The first one smelt and tasted the same as normal then I ordered another as that one ran out and this one has a strong chemical smell to it. I mixed a shake up just to see as I thought maybe it’s just the drum it’s in or something, I took 2 sips and threw the rest away it tasted disgusting and again had this horrible chemical taste to it, I have now had to order a different product of ON’s website as I have lost trust in amazon on this product.

Not a good tasteThis Chocolate taste is not good. I already opened it, so I had to then use it. The Optimum Nutrition Vanilla flavour is much better, tastes really nice. If you still want to buy Chocolate flavour or have already bought it then there are some below tips to use it.Protein Shake: 2 * scoops of Protein powder ‑1: In Water (Not a good taste)2: Water & Semi-skimmed Milk (Tastes okay)3: Semi-skimmed Milk (Tastes better)4: Vanilla*1 scoop & Chocolate*1 in Milk (Tastes much better)Whey Isolate v Concentrate:Whey Protein “Isolate” digest quicker than Whey Protein “Concentrate”. While Whey Concentrate is good for someone on a restricted diet. It will make you feel full for longer, acts as a meal replacement. But you may also feel bloated for hours with Whey Concentrate.Whereas, you won’t feel that with Whey Isolate. You can also have a meal afterwards. Both are good but it’s entirely up to your personal preference.

Great product (not fake). Read reviewSo I was a bit unsure because there’s a lot of reviews saying it’s fake. I firat contacted Optimum Nutrition directly and asked if they sell on amazon. They confirmed. When I received the product, I sent the batch number and manufacture date to Optimum Nutrition who confirmed it’s their product and is legit. The protein itself is amazing, definitely worth the money.

What is this gunk?Ok, so I’ve been buying this for a long time now. I know what to expect with regards to consistency, colour, flavour and so on.The taste is weird, it’s not what I’ve ever tasted before from Gold Standard, certainly not that lovely strawberry flavour I’m used to. It won’t mix, and I’m using the same shaker I’ve always used, never had problems before. Lumpy and just all out weird consistency. Colour is off and I’ve compared to the powder I bought from their official retail website. Not the same. It’s all kinds of wrong.I won’t be buying again, which is a shame because previous shakes have been bang on with this seller. Bad batch? Who knows, either way I can’t spend that much money and receive gunk.

Love this proteinLove isolate protein. This flavour is so yummy. I usually have this as a snack during the day between my meals if I’m hungry. I have 1 scoop with 300ml oat milk. Fills me up for the time I need it. Stops me snacking on the more naughty snacks heheIsolate protein is also very good for losing weight. High protein intake as well.

Great product!Been using ON for so many years and in my opinion their protein is one of the best, if not the best. The quality and taste is exceptional and for me it’s very easy on the stomach e.g. doesn’t cause any bloating as long as measures are followed. Would definitely recommend.

  9. AJM1963

Not certain…Tried this after using the “normal” ON protein shakes. My observations:Much less thick than the normal one. Probably means it will be less good if used as a meal replacement occasionally. I think you would still be hungry after one of these.Chocolate taste is, for me at least, much less nice than the normal Double Rich Chocolate one. Slight after taste, which I’m not sure I’ll get used to.I’ll persevere, but suspect I’ll go back to the original.

  10. TechnicalMarvel

Tastes VileI have been using ON products for quite a while now and usual have the Gold Standard. I purchased this for something different as isolate is also meant to be better, and it was on offer! Genuinely wish I hadnt bothered. Ive tried various protein powders from multiple brands, and I can honestly say i have yet to come across one that tastes as odd as this one. Would not be buying again, and would not recommend lol
