12 Protein BarsWe do enjoy eating protein type of bars, this selection of 12 is really delicious, you get different varieties but they all have a nice white chocolate covering, each bar is thick and dense and really fills you up, I am having half for my lunch as each bar is packed full of calories and they really do take away your hunger pangs. In terms of taste, I think they are delicious, yes there is a little chalky taste, but it is not unpleasant, in fact I am enjoying the texture as it helps to fill you up, there is less sugar in these bars, so when you eat one you will taste the flavour but little sugar, so really nice as most bars are packed with sugar, which destroys the taste of the actual flavour.I am very pleased with these bars, for the quantity the price is just about correct, very well made and with different flavours, I will definitely be buying more when we finish off this selection, so I would recommend these bars, just don’t eat too many, I can only give these fantastic bars five stars.

Delicious protein bars! 😀If you’re looking for some delicious protein bars then you don’t need to look any further than these! These protein bars come in a wide variety of quite different flavours to those you’d pick up from a supermarket or health foods store (in my experience). From pumpkin spiced latte through to Eton Mess; the flavours have a slightly more ‘upmarket’ theme to them. The white chocolate is also a nice change, with most protein bars opting for the more mass-marketable milk chocolate.Having tried loads of protein bars over the years, I would say that these are right up there with some of the best I’ve tried. The flavours all taste great, I really liked the Raspberry Ripple one especially, but I think what I liked most was the texture that comes with the taste. Just like a Lion Bar or Mars Bar or Snickers you get that chewiness that you expect from a chocolate bar.In terms of nutritional values, the amount of protein in these is good at 18–20grams per bar. There are bars with more protein available out there, however it’s worth remembering that these are plant-based protein bars and so compared to other bars of this type the protein count is actually very high. The calories are high too. For me, as someone who burns through a lot due to my cross-training style, this is useful. However, it is worth those on stricter diets paying closer attention to not only the calorie count, but the amount of fat and saturated fats too. Again, it’s worth remembering that you typically see higher amounts of fats in vegan protein bars, so the higher calories and fats aren’t specific to these bars.Overall, I am really happy with these protein bars. They come in a box I can keep in the cupboard and pull out a bar as I’m about to head off to the gym. Best of all, in addition to the useful nutritional values, they taste delicious and have a great texture too.

Very goodThese are beautifully presented — that was the first thing we noticed. They come in a branded cardboard box and it all looks and feels very premium. The 12 bars are loosely scattered in the box and, my goodness, they’re huge. They are easily a meal replacement — and at around 300 calories each they can be.You get 2 of each of the 6 flavours in each box, and it’s really fun sampling them all — this is much more enjoyable than getting a box with just one flavour. They do somewhat suffer from the same problem most protein bars do, which is that chalky texture; we’ve only ever tried one protein bar which didn’t have that problem (I’ll not advertise another company here so I won’t say the name of it) so it’s not something Nourished have done wrong — it’s almost universal with protein bars.On the plus side, the flavours do vary massively, so you’ll definitely be able to find a favourite. Husband loved the peanut salted caramel (this flavour comes in the All Star Favourites box); I loved the lemon cheesecake which has a thin layer of lime jam for added sweet/sharp yumminess. To be honest, I don’t think we would pay £27.99 for the 12 bars… that’s more than most protein bars, and I don’t know if they’re nicer enough to warrant the extra cost. But that’s not to say they’re not good — husband thinks he’ll probably find it hard to limit himself to one a day!On the plus side, also, they’re made in the UK by a small British business, which is excellent. And they really are good, and so much fun to test and sample, so if my review is anything less than glowing, ignore those bits. I think they’re definitely worth a try.

  4. Captain Awesome

High calorie protein boostThese delicious protein bars come in great — and frankly oversized — packaging. They tick all the modern boxes, with them being vegan, plastic free and plant based. The flavours are varied and I’ve already found a few I really like. At around £20 — the price as I review this pack — these seem like completely fair value. At the regular £27 price, I wouldn’t personally be so enthusiastic.I removed a star because I feel the amount of calories should be highlighted by the company. Some people definitely want high calorie protein bars, whereas others prefer a bar that offers the maximum amount of protein they can get without entering into “meal replacement” territory. At up to 355 calories a bar, I feel these are more the latter. Steps have clearly been taken to keep them healthy. For example, using polyols; sugar derived from alcohol that’s less sugary. The calorie issue aside, I think these are great. If you get them when they’re on offer.

  5. Mr N McAllister

Good protein barsThese are £19–59 for 12 bars or £1–63 each. That does seem a bit pricey but is on a par with most of these types of protein bars. Still I am taking a star away as I would like these to be cheaper. A lot cheaper. Anyway there are 6 flavours which mimic popular dessert cakes like Apple Crumble with 2 of each flavour. The taste is OK. Not great but certainly not bad. I found them enjoyable. They are covered in what they say is white chocolate but it doesn’t really taste like chocolate. Still its a protein bar not a Mars or Snickers bar so all good. The bars are actually very dense so its not some light fluffy thing and as such its very filling. They have 19 g of protein per bar which is excellent and more than many protein shakes. Overall I think its a great buy which is a nice after dinner treat in my case or an on the go snack with no bad stuff and loads of protein. I really like them and think they are worth trying

  6. laura

Delicious and fillingBut be careful these are very high in calories and carbs, 30g carbs and 300 calories per bar. These could replace a meal easily. They are all very tasty, big too. They have an advisory not to use them in replacement to a healthy diet.I think they are great for workouts or a meal on the go when you don’t have time to stop. Decent dates on them.Presented in a lovely box with all the nutritional details.Made in Birmingham.Vegan too, didn’t even notice that in the taste.Fantastic set of flavours and low sugar content.

  7. Blueface

A bit on the expensive side!I think this company is smart to target the vegan diet area.Considering the price is £1.63 per bar, they are one of the more expensive bars on the market, but one of the very few vegan ones.If you can afford these, then I think they are great, especially considering the intake of 18g of protein per bar.Actually taste quite delicious, and I think I will struggle keeping to one per day.I hope this review is helpful, thank you for reading it!
