No HD on NetflixIn principle, this should have been a fantastic device (for the price). However, the device does not have widevine L1 DRM certification — this is down to oversight/laziness of Nokia. As a result, it will not play HD on any of the streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime Google Play) – it’s only SD (480p). What is the point of advertising the device as having 2K screen, if you cannot take advantage of its main intended use case – i.e. media consumption? For that reason have to give it for now 1 star. I understand that the issue can be rectified with a firmware update (so perhaps if you’re reading this after Oct 2021, It’s all resolved). However, as things stand I will be sending it back to Nokia within the next 4 weeks (Nokia also offers 30 day money back), unless, in the meantime, a new firmware is issued which grants the “widevine L1”. Even with that, I will raise it to only 4 stars. The device runs pure Android. This has advantages (no bloatware oh heavy-skinned launcher) — all great. However, many most basic features you would expect to have are missing (it’s a barebone Android). There is no way to override screen brightness, no memory clean / optimisation (app kill). I also find the Wi-Fi driver needs an urgent update: if you have a WiFi mesh network — the device doesn’t want to “roam” between access points – it clings to the first AP it connects (I have 20+ other devices — this tablet is the only one that does it). — again all could (in fact should) be rectified within firmware updates.

Light & 3 Years Of Software supportBought this as a replacement for a Lenovo tablet that Lenovo refused to provide Operating System updates for (despite initially stating they would). This comes with Android 11 installed and the latest security updates were installed during setup. As Nokia promise they will give 2 years of Operating System updates that should mean Android 12 & 13 should be released for this tablet when they become available thereby extending the working life and secure life of this purchase. The screen is responsive and runs smoothly for the various tasks that I run on it. I’ve put a micro SD card into it as I tend to load this up with e‑books and movies for long trips and the screen resolution and sound quality more than meet my needs.I bought the 4G version as I often buy a SIM card when abroad in areas with poor wifi and have tested it with my existing mobile phone SIM card — works totally fine. Although it should be noted that as this is a tablet and not a phone it will not make and receive calls. I get round this by using video calling within messenger apps that work across data. All in all I am very pleased with this tablet (much more so than the very poorly updated Lenovo it replaced).I also bought this flip case for it as it is much cheaper than the official case and looks better than the ugly eBay silicone ones …–1&th=1&tag=pepperugc03-21&ascsubtag=2281143287

Doesn’t play HD.Great looking tablet, nice clean Android interface but doesn’t support HD video play back and is limited to SD. Great shame as a good tablet but I’ll be returning it.

Problems with holding house WiFi signalT20 arrived early, easy to set up,it required an update out of the box,so it took a while to get going,it seems to have a problem holding onto the house WiFi,theres nothing wrong with the WiFi ‚works just fine on ALL other phones/tablets etc. I’ll keep trying to sort this out,but may have to return for replacement unit .Had to return the T20, unfortunately. I purchased another 1 from Nokia HMD IRL,so we’ll see how that goes. I’ll keep this post updated,I’m hopeful that I’ll be satisfied with the new tablet.

Shockingly poor WiFiEvery time I rotated the device into portrait mode it lost WiFi signal — requiring the WiFi passcode to be re-entered/re-confirmed. This is in a strong WiFI signal area. Returning as not fit for purpose.

Bargain TabletAs an old school Nokia fan I just had to buy this tablet to replace my 2 ageing Samsung ones which no longer gets updated. I am very happy how good it is in terms of quality and speed. I can do everything on it that I did on my Samsung tablets which is mainly surfing the net and listening to music, I don’t do gaming or stream movies so lack of HD doesn’t bother me. I must admit the internal speakers aren’t the best but I use a Bluetooth speaker so that doesn’t bother me either. The bottom line is, if you want a tablet to do what I do and more with future updates at a bargain price get this 1.

No HD on Netflix Amazon Video Bad SupportWish there was 0. You will not get HD on Netflix Amazon and Disney +. This device does not support HD for streaming services. Imagine you just bought a Ferrari but there’s 1 issue… steering wheel and brakes are from Nisaan Micra. Best bit is customer support. It is simply unbelievable experience. I tell them no HD on Netflix and he’s getting back to me with tablet specs and says that it’s fine and tells me to restart it. I ask them whenever they’re going to fix the issue and he asks me… what is the issue with Netflix. I ask him whenever he’s on drugs and he tells me not to use foul language as he will disconnect chat. Honestly… what a start for Nokia trying to come back on market …

Audio Glitches in gamesThe media could not be loaded.

In games there is considerable glitching with the audio. This has happened in almost every game I have played, old and new. See videoThis makes for a very poor experience and with this and the lack of HD in many of the streaming services, I find this very hard to recommend

  9. Pen

First one failed but replacement great so far…The first one I received the screen froze within hours of using it which hasn’t happened to me before and I had concerns about returning it if I couldn’t factory reset it first but Amazon support helped me to resolve this. However, as I loved the product description and really wanted this tablet because it was being offered at a really good price, I decided to get a replacement and so far I have not been disappointed. It has a really good battery life, isn’t sluggish and overall performs well. My only irritation is that I thought it was a phalet but with the SIM card installed I cannot make or receive calls so I still have to tether it to my smartphone instead.

Great value for moneyI purchased this for my daughter after her ipad started to slow down and the battery only last a short time. I was a bit worried at first as it didn’t have the apple badge on it for her, however she loves it. She has already said its much quicker than her ipad, charges quicker and the battery lasts much longer. I will keep working on her to move away from the iPhone as android is much better and cheaper. (in my opinion)
