What are the benefits of HP+?

HP+ is a smart printing system that gives you premium cloud — connected solutions, an extra year of HP coverage, 2 years of exclusive HP Smart App features, and 6 months optional subscription to the Instant Ink replenishment service.

What are the requirements of this HP+ printer?

The optional cloud — connected HP+ printing system requires an HP account, ongoing internet connection, and use of Original HP Ink Cartridges for the life of the printer.

Does an HP+ Printer require a subscription to the Instant Ink service or rother ongoing costs?

No, there are no additional costs associated with HP+. You can choose to enroll in an optional subscription for Instant Ink and receive 6 months subscription, but it is not required.

What is the HP Smart App and why should I use it?

HP Smart App is a top — rated app that enables you to setup your printer, print/scan from virtually anywhere, and access exclusive HP+ features. The Smart App is required to setup your HP+ printer from a mobile device or your computer.

How does HP protect my privacy with a connected, account — based device?

Privacy and data protection are extremely important to HP. HP collects certain printer and usage data to improve the printing experience. HP does not access content from any files shared through the cloud or printed on our printer.

Enigma machine full of crapwareHP invented abomination out of its sick imagination. Requirement to have internet to setup, smartphone bloatware in form of two apps offering 99 percent useless features but required for operation. Hp + ink cartridge brain rape, you will have to decline it 100 times if you don’t want.Printer has slow brains as it is filled with all the sick crapware imagination of the designers who thinks printer must be this spaghetti monster which does many things but not printing.Printer doesn’t support WPA3 where even my legacy devices of 4 years know what to do with protected frames.Printer doesn’t see hidden networks same as 15 years ago.On guest network this crap will frantically get confused on setup finalize getting stuck infinitely. So you can’t use this type of network for it anyway. On Linux this poop needs a 20 min build of pip with pipenv and dozens of python libraries..Final straw was firmware update which this imbecile triggered by itself and then reset its own activated state, bricked itself to a point where smartphone thinks it is setup and ready and printer spits error “finish setup”. It asked some hidden pin which could be found in a secret printer compartment but then reset itself to loop state again. When you go to support you see 90s style support forum asking to give them likes for generic advices. Penny employees? Unethical. This is not a printer this is a mutant whos evolution stuck a dead end because it forgot it’s primary feature. Hp must dump it’s cloudcrapware inkbrainrape and return back to basic printing. Alternatively hp can go bust , world won’t miss you.Uh , dear Reader, I hold two computing science degree related so if you get stuck much earlier than that — don’t panic just hit “return” button. Don’t waste your time.Update: I successfully returned this and received Epson — one of the cheapest on amazon, OH LORD OH LOOOORD, this little hardworking machine is twice smaller than this abomination , prints 10x slower, and is 3 times cheaper. The setup was smooth and guided just through printer screen, connected to my wifi from first attempt. It asked some fine grained calibration but nothing too demanding. Best part , my linux machine “just saw it” didn’t need any drivers, just saw it and i successfully printed, the setup took less than 30 min compared to failed 3 hours for the abomination. People let’s come to terms with reality, HP is dead as a company, long time before they realized and the existing products get progressively worse.

Great printer — and if you are a crafter works on card up to 280ggI was a bit concerned when I read some of the reviews — but as an owner of HP printers for close on 15 years decided to give it a try.Found it very simple to set up, you do have to go on line and either sign in or create a new account, but once done the extra warranty was a bonus. You are also tied into using HP inks and needing to have WiFi.I have been using HP Ink for a number of years — but getting 9 months free ink was an added incentive. Ink is not cheap. The new ink was delivered within 2 weeks of purchasing the printer, which was just as well as I did have a problem getting a line free image with the original ink cartridges. Once the new cartridges were installed problem went away.I am a crafter and make a lot of greeting cards — one of the issues I have had with previous printers is the weight of card stock that can be used. This printer accepts 280g no problem.Overall am pleased and impressed with speed, quality of print and versatility.

Defectivfe. Would not connect to Wi-FiI was really hoping for this printer to do its job properly as I use our home printer a lot. I run my business from home and I have to sometimes print around 100 odd pages in a single day. I hoped that this professional grade printer would help to make that process more efficient. This is a multifunctional printer and you can copy scan and print from this device. I was really excited to connect this printer to wi-fi network so that I can take the print outs from my phone but for the life of me, I could not get it to connect to wi-fi. I tried everything and read the full instruction manual. I have checked on HP’s website as well and couldn’t find a solution even after trying all the troubleshooting steps. It was really disappointing. I ended up connecting it via USB cable which mind you I had to buy on my own as it is not included in the package. You need to buy this separately if you want to connect it via USB cable. The HP Smart App did not work as well and even after connecting the printer through USB to my PC and keeping my PC on, it would not detect the printer on the network. Overall, at this price, I was expecting a much more seamless experience. If I print through my PC, it seems to do the job fine and the print quality and the speed is much better than my previous printer but I can’t always sit in front of my PC whenever I want to take a print out. It defeats the whole purpose of getting a smart printer. Overall, I would not recommend this printer if the sole reason you are getting this is for use with phone.

Heavy Duty PrinterPrinter arrived quickly and very well packaged. I was hesitant at first due to the size of the machine, this definitely needs a bit of space on a desk but that’s understandable with the 2 paper trays and full duplex scanner. Setup was a breeze with the HP App.I already had an existing HP printer so adding an extra device was seamless and my machine connected immediately to the network and performed a quick firmware update.Print speed is excellent in both colour and black. Copying appeared to take slightly longer but being able to scan a double sided page and print double sided without having to rescan or turn the printer page was fantastic. While the ink cartridges supplied appear to last quite a while I did signup to the HP+ Instant Ink plan and found them all reasonably priced and very suited for my household printing needs which often includes a lot of work printing.Overall this machine would be well suited to any home office or workplace and with the extra features such as AirPrint and the HP App it is perfect for advanced IT users and novices alike, would highly recommend this unit.

Amazing and fast printer!Have to admit this printer has really impressed me from the outset and I am really happy that I have this printer! The printer is quite heavy, but you would expect that from an ‘all-in-one’ printer. Taking the printer out is a bit of a tricky task, so make sure to lay the printer on the longest box side when pulling the printer out!The printer set up is pretty straightforward with a few tricky bits which required a couple of re-attempts to get the printer set up correctly.Definitely make sure you set up HP+ correctly with the right details etc as this is pretty important. Connection to laptops and phones are quite easy once you have set up your HP Smart account. When it comes to using this printer — its fast! The quality is very good and the print rate is great, especially for double sided prints. I’ve used this for quite a number of prints now and its made printing a joy and so much easier. I’ve used HP printers for a vast number of years now, and this is the best one I have used and owned. I thoroughly enjoy this printer and the ease of scanning and copying is also great too. I would highly recommend this printer and the HP Ink programme is great too — definitely worth looking into it as i’m sure, if you need to print documents/photos etc, the ease of use and great output of this machine will lead to lots of prints being performed and ink being used quickly (even though the ink cartridges last for quite a bit!).Definitely a big thumbs up!

Outstanding printer for business and personal useI got this printer because I wanted an upgraded one due to studying a lot I needed a double-sided printer. The printer was easy to set up and even connects with my phone very easily. I love how it has a tray that closes for the paper particularly with having young children they use to take it from my old one now it’s safely away from little hands. I also love how when you do double-sided printing it stops to say it’s drying and it’s support fast, I’ve also printed a few certificates on a card to go in my frames from it and the quality was outstanding. My overall opinion is that I would certainly recommend it to anyone and I will be sticking with this printer for a long time.

Great value, fast printer with good featuresI had some difficulty selecting a worthy replacement for my trusty 11 year old Canon MG6250 that finally died. I wanted a reliable printer with a cassette input tray to hold the paper (rather than a rear input tray) and reasonable printing costs. The few home printers that fit the bill have done scathing reviews, so I decided to look at something a bit more office quality. I was very surprised that the 9012e was under £115, and liked the features. Yes, it’s a bit too tall with an automatic document feeder I don’t really need, but the desk footprint isn’t too bad.I like the quality of the output, the speed of printing, and the features on the Mac and iOS apps. I also like the Instant Ink concept, and enjoy the ability to print full colour pages and photos without worrying about additional ink costs (all pages are rated equally).Things I don’t like? The screen is a bit on the small side, but not too bad. I’d also like a second rear tray for one-off prints with photo paper, labels, envelopes etc (at the moment you have to officially remove the paper from the cassette and put these items in there — a bit of a faff).A good solid printer so far, and very easy to set up if you follow the step by step instructions. Recommended.

An Ok Office printerThe printer was well packaged when it arrived. Unboxing was made easier by the handles on the plastic it was wrapped in. It was quick and easy to set up and all was going well. The print quality was good and the ink cartridges had a decent amount of ink in them compared to other new printers. Unfortunately, a lot of the smart apps do not work with a Mac which is very disappointing. The scan to email or scan to computer functions do not work directly from the printer itself with a Mac and you have to use a peice of software or app on the computer to tdo his which is frustrating and can be time consuming! The print speed is good and i like having the ability to use the 2 trays although this can be a bit buggy at times when selecting the correct paper tray. I print quite a lot on card of about 200gsm. I haven’t yet had a successful print with this but it may be me. I will persevere. All in all it is an OK printer! i would say if you wanted to buy a printer to use with a mac, to not buy this one and use one that has functions that work for a mac, although there are not many of those around. If you were looking for a high use home printer then this one’s for you.

Another great HP printerWe had a HP Officejet printer before which was working perfect, but that was big and noisy. Now we got it’s brother and I am so so happy we did. It is smaller, quicker and easy to print with it. The set up was like 1, 2, 3. I love that it is working with Instant Ink service. The 2 trays allow me to put in plenty of paper. The printing quality is perfect! This printer is easy to handle in all aspects. I am glad I have chosen this printer which is perfect for our personal and business needs as well. Oh have I mentioned that it takes up smaller space than the old one? Thank you HP for creating such a great product!

Excellent product, a bit more than I needI’ve been using this for printing and copying for a couple of weeks now, and so far I’m impressed! The set-up was a bit difficult if you’re not ‘techie’, and I’ve still not been able to set up the ‘scan’ function, but the print speed and quality is great, it fits nicely in my home office, and I’ve already received my first lot of ink in the post (unbelievably quick delivery). So far I love it, just need to get it to scan now! The best function is being able to print from my phone — it’s SO easy and saves so much time with documents etc. The screen use is easy and simple too. It’s probably a bit more than I need for a home printer, but I’m very happy with it.
