Dynamic security enabled printer

Certain HP printers are intended to work only with cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip or electronic circuitry. These printers use dynamic security measures to block cartridges using a non-HP chip or electronic circuitry. Periodic firmware updates will maintain the effectiveness of these measures and block cartridges that previously worked. Reused HP chips and electronic circuitry enable the use of reused, remanufactured and refilled cartridges.

Damn this thing is small!I’ve had several HP printers in the past and got used to their size, but as I needed a printer for the home I saw this and thought why not… and damn, this thing is small compared to the others I’ve had, it’s about 2/3 the depth but that makes a differenceScanning isn’t as easy for non-documents (like passports or pags from a book/magazine), but if you’re really just wanting a printer and don’t need the scanner/copier feature, then this is superbPrint quality is what you expect from HP colour ink jets, and speed seems comparable to the slightly larger modelsOverall, if you want a small printer with a paper scanner/copier, then this will be a superb purchase for you!

Value for moneyVery happy with this compact printer it does what it said on the seller description and to be honest after reading the reviews saying it was a nightmare to set up I was very nervous about it but it was really straight forward and I’m NOT an IT/computare geek!. Highly recommend it!

You get what you pay for.I would have been happy with just a desktop printer and no scanner, but this little beauty, despite my title, does just the job. The price I thought was too good to be true, but you get a lot of bang for your buck so to speak. After reading a lot of the reviews it really left me wondering about some peoples ideas of value for money? Because yes it’s not that easy to set up, not like the more expensive ones, and yes the build quality is a budget build. However, once you are up and running its a little gem. Tucked away on a shelf in my home workshop, its a shed!, It doesn’t take up loads of space and now I can just whip it out and print away to my hearts content. I got it to save me time running back forward to the house using one of the said more expensive printers (HP as well) every 5 minutes when doing invoices or tech plans. When I’ve finished I can just pop it back on the shelf out of the way. I will need to make a cover for it though.. the shed gets just a tad dusty at times. Bottom line its a HP mini gem and I love it! I knew I would. Thank you HP!

The hardest printer iv ever had to set upThe instructions sound easy, but to be honest its not plug and play and unless you have an hour to spend setting this unit up, i wouldn’t recommend for an ameature.

Big disappointment .…. dont buyI read the description for this printer and because I already have one on my home network and have an hp laptop, thought it would be perfect. What they dont tell you is that it wont connect to 5ghz wifi, only 2.4ghz, which I dont have. So, if want to connect it, I either have to use an ethernet cable, which I dont have, and dont want, or, even worse, connect it with a usb cable, straight to my laptop, which completely defies the reason for buying a wifi printer in the first place. I am extremely disappointed to say the very least.…..

Compact little printer. Does the jobI didn’t realise how small it was until I unpacked it. It prints perfectly, but as there is no guide for the exiting paper, you do needed to leave a little space for the paper to come out. It is a little fiddly to scan, as you have to feed the (to be scanned) paper in. It will only scan sheets of paper, ie you cannot scan your passport as it will not fit into the feeder. I’m happy with it.

Good PrinterSet up was very easy, I’m no tech guy but I had this working in 5 minutes, connected to WiFi instantly, its a very good compact printer and will be OK for my printer needs.

  8. Ian Pollitt

Good quality printing for priceThe printer is compact and easy to use when set up. Unfortunately, it took over twenty times before my router (BT) and the printer would connect using WPS.

Absolutely Horrible to set up.Still traumatised by set up a day ago !!!! Absolutely horrible to set up. Wouldn’t connect to internet WiFi after following instructions in minute detail . My husband who is tech savvy did eventually get it to connect but it then proceeded to wipe out our internet connection ‚affected the router ( even our router lost the will to work )so had to contact provider and do full reset of router. App was absolutely useless as it couldn’t find the printer and just wanted to track to send adds and get your email. HP online Support none existent. Automated response of absolutely no use. In fact it was so bad it made me angry,on top of what had become an afternoon of frustration. Took self control not to throw it out the window or smash with very large hammerFunny enough it was our internet provider who actually assisted with set up, so in the end ‚6hrs later we did get it all working. I suppose we were just more determined than the printer. It works nothing special does the job ok actually, hence the price and for the little colour printing we do in the home office it will not be too expensive as the ink can be got on offer.I would not recommend this printer if you have a short temper or patience as the set up will trigger anxiety, mental health issues and violence.

Amazing little printerI don’t know what other reviewers are on about when they say it’s hard to set up cos it really isn’t it’s so easy I didn’t even need instruction to figure it all out, I set it up within 2 mins , so easy so good and I love this printer , I nearly didn’t buy it though cos of the reviews saying how hard it was to set up etc but I’m glad I did as it’s perfect and does what I need it for 🙂 very happy and don’t be put off by negative reviewers cos it really is so easy to set up and a great little printer
