Only offers 3 star UVA protection..….. the minimum recommendation is 4 stars. I didn’t realise it was so low prior to purchase. Pretty poor protection. It amounts to less than 60% of UVA blocked.UVA waves cause premature ageing and skin cancers. Will try another brand with a 5 star rating. Which is what I presumed I was getting here due to rave reviews.

unreliable sun protection on it’s own.I bought this sun screen spray to apply over my makeup as a top up during the day and to set my face makeup. I usually wear another suncream underneath my makeup.Im asian-tan skin.Very mild acne. Very sensitive and prone to hypermigmentation and sunspots. I wear suncream all year round.Unfortunately my usual suncream had run out (I buy online as it’s very difficult for me to find a reasonably priced suncream that doesn’t leave a white cast or break me out) So I did not have an extra protection for about 2 weeks. My foundation has spf20 and then I was using this as added protection ontop.PROS:No White-castEasy to Apply over make upLight weightDid not break me out like other suncreamsReasonably priced per ml compared to La Roche Posay/ Avene/Eucerine sun spray mists. It did ‘set’ my makeup somewhat. And definitely did not seem to break me out. However, I do not feel I can’t rely on this solely as a sun protection. The two weeks I had used this without my usual suncream, I developed hyper pigmentation on my forehead and 2 sun spots on my nose. I have an oily t‑zone so I’m guessing this just sweated-off.CONS:Not Sweat Proof/waterproofRuns out quickly (I had about 2.5 weeks daily use of 2–3 times a day)Unreliable sun protection on it’s ownCannot tell if all areas have been sprayed properly as there is little/no wet mist. You can’t tell if you’ve applied it correctly. I spray it about 10–15cm all over my face and neck. But you can’t really feel anything or see anything. It’s ok for topping up during the day over your makeup. But do not rely on it on it’s own. It’s a good concept, but the actual spa element could be improved. I will not buy again and look for alternatives.

Only 3‑star UVA protectionThis only has a 3‑star UVA protection. What is the point of being SPF 50 when it only has 3‑star UVA?To better understand what this means. The star rating measures the amount of ultraviolet ‘A’ radiation (UVA) protection. You should see a star rating of up to 5‑stars on UK sunscreens. The higher the star rating, the better. Star shows the level of protection from UVA rays. UVA rays are present at all times during daylight hours, and while you might not immediately see their effects, they’re very powerful. They can penetrate clouds and even glass. They penetrate the skin more deeply than UVB rays to cause long-term damage (including all types of skin cancer) and play a major part in the ageing process, such as causing wrinkles, sun spots and leathery skin.SPFs are rated on a scale of 2 to 50+ based on the level of protection they offer, with 50+ offering the strongest form of UVB protection. The higher the SPF rating the better the protection from UVB rays which are the sun rays that are mostly responsible for sunburn and skin reddening. They don’t penetrate as deeply as UVA rays, but they’re just as damaging. They play a large part in the development of skin cancers including melanoma. You might get a tan but you also cause premature skin ageing and old leathery looking skin over years of exposure. It was not clear what the star rating was from the description selling the product and for the price at £12 for one 40mL bottle I expected better protection. I wrongly assumed it would be 5‑star. I don’t consider this good value for money or able to provide the UVA protection i was lookig for. I therefore award it one star.

Good idea but not for meOh dear. This seemed such a good idea.; to be able to spray and protect your face from sun, as and when, with a handbag sized product sounds great! But in practice this just doesn’t work for me. I carefully followed the instructions, closed eyes, and sprayed. For about an hour all was good and the product wasn’t too greasy and felt ok on my skin. However, an hour later my eyes began to sting and water and this hasn’t stopped after 6 hours. In fact it’s getting worse! It’s almost inevitable that some will get into the eyes but I was fooled by the ‘sensitive’ label. I daren’t put this stuff anywhere near my face again. Good luck to others who try it!

Goes on matte but needs blotting laterPositives:+ Sprays on matte+ Easy to apply — encourages reapplication (important!)+ Does not disrupt make up+ Hyaluronic acid is a great moisturiser, you’ll need it in the sun!Negatives:- By the end pf the day I found my skin was much greasier than normal- Although it seemed fine for my eyes at first, eventually it did start to sting if I rubbed my eyes- Only three star UVA protection, generally 4 stars is recommendedSummary:If you wear make up and/or tend to be lazy about reapplying, I recommend using this spray. Later in the day you will have to blot and you will have to take care not to rub your eyes when you’re tired. Bearing in mind that reapplying sunscreen is often overlooked, these are small compromises to ensure you’re properly protected.Tip:This sunscreen is great value for the face, but body mists are cheaper/larger bottles. Use this one for the face and find a cheaper mist for the body, where you don’t need the mattifying element so much.

Total disappointmentI’m sorry to say that this product just didn’t work for me at all. The first time I tried it (shaking well first and keeping the right distance from my face), it didn’t go on transparent at all, but I just looked as if I’d been sprayed with white paint! It’s possible that the item I received had a dodgy consistency for some reason, so I would have just rubbed the white in (despite not having to do this being the whole reason I bought the product). But the product itself stung my skin so badly, I had to wash it off straight away. It particularly stung the skin around my eyes (not my eyes themselves). I don’t have especially sensitive skin, but as this product is specifically designed for sensitive skin, I was really surprised. It is also strongly perfumed, so perhaps my skin was reacting to that.I will go back to using La Roche Posay face fluid daily. That is an exceptional product. I only thought to try this, as I thought spraying over makeup would be really convenient.Really disappointing, but glad it’s working well for many people.

Finally!I’ve tried SO many face SPF’s and after only using this for one day I can already tell it’s my favourite! I have combination/ oily skin (very oily tzone, dry cheeks) and this goes on beautifully. It’s so thin and liquidy, it disappears into nothing on your face without leaving any kind of cast, residue or greasiness. Make up sits amazingly on top of it too. My boyfriend also loves it!

  8. Joolz

A life saver for us vampires 😀I bought this sun mist last year specifically for use over make up so I have all day protection when I’m out and about in the sun with full make up on. I have very pale, sun sensitive skin and I’ve never burnt my face with this product. It’s not greasy at all, I hate the feeling of greasy sun protection. When I spray this on my face it almost feels powdery. My make up doesn’t run when applied. I think it’s great and a nice size to pop in your handbag. Just make sure you close your eyes when applying

  9. FawleyMarkyT

Retail price £7.00This is a highly rated product, but the product details here are incorrect. This is a 40ml bottle for £11.98. It retails at £7.00 in Boots the chemist. The price of £8.44 per 100ml is therefore wrong. Caveat emptor.

  10. ncxo

Good for slightly darker complexion tooI have Fitzpatrick skin type 4 and I’m always on the hunt for a sunscreen that doesn’t leave me looking like a ghost. Although this one does have a bit of a white cast, in general it blends in very well and looks good under makeup. Very easy to apply and excellent UV protection. My one comment would be that it can look a bit greasy on the skin, so if you already have very oily skin then this isn’t for you. I personally liked that it made me have a bit more of a glow. Other than that, I honestly can’t fault it for the price as well.
