  1. Miss R. Barter

Could not live without! Still going strong after 5 years!I purchased this in Dec 2015 so its tried and tested. I love this hot water dispenser and would not be without it now.Even when making 4 cups of tea its still quicker to pop your cup under, wait for the water to pour 4 times then boil the normal kettle once.I love the added bonus of not having to pick up a heavy kettle full of boiling water. This hot water dispenser, dispenses 250ml of boiling hot water in around 30–35 seconds. It does not have a variable dispense rate but the more expensive ones do.After having for nearly 2 and a half years i would not hesitate to get another one and cannot recommend a better product.Update May 2021 — This kettle is now nearly 5 and a half years old and I have definitely have got my monies worth. It makes on average 35 — 40 cups of tea a day (for us, we love tea!) and is still going very strong. One thing I will say is late last year it started leaking a little where the water display shows (right along the edge where it meets the black plastic) but a little bit of superglue did the trick and never had an issue since.I will definitely invest in another one once this one goes. Ive never had to descale as there is no water sitting on an element. It reallyxis a perfect kettle. For anyone looking for one of these I would not hesitate to buy this one.

Buyer the larger version instead!I bought this for my elderly grandad as I have the larger version & have been very happy with it — but I have to say this smaller version isn’t so good compared to mine- you can not adjust the amount of water that is dispensed so only an average sized mug will do & if you use a smaller cup — you cannot stop the water at any point — so it will overflow the cup — where as with mine you can adjust for the size of mug/cup & you can actually stop the flow of water with the touch of a button. Also when you fill it back up — the lid doesn’t clip back nicely into place — you have to actually push the lid down whilst holding the button you used to open it!!Overall a poor design compared to the larger more expensive Breville one cup dispenser.Wouldn’t buy again.

  3. Mrs. A. Cherrington

Read this before you buy!I knew as soon as I used this item for the first time that it was going back. Like other people have said the water portion it delivers is way too big for my mugs which are different makes and all average size. You can’t press a button to stop the flow either so this means when you press the button to fill you have to stand and wait while it heats up and then when it spits the water out (making a right racket while doing so) you have to lift the mug out of the way when you get enough water and let the rest of the water fall into the spill tray below. This makes it the total opposite of a time saver, when a normal kettle boils I do not have to stand there and wait, I can do other things, this thing you have to guard it and then risk splashing hot water and coffee everywhere while you try and make your drink the right size, then you have to empty the overflow tray all the time as well. Totally pointless! On top of this the water container itself is way too small, I got maybe 3–4 mugs out of it, and it’s REALLY awkward to fill up from the tap because the opening is too small and the flap gets in the way.Just a totally awkward design and not what I was hoping for at all. I’m going back to to a regular kettle now.

  4. Fozzy

Absolutely Brilliant! We purchased this as an alternative to the usual normal kettle which I’m sure we all have. I’m disabled and I can’t use my hands properly so I needed something that would be easier to use so I didn’t have to struggle to lift the kettle and inadvertently scold myself. For the price this is absolutely brilliant, practicality this is brilliant but for functionality it’s not quite there. I say this because if you’re like me and have a slightly larger mug than a ‘normal’ mug (because you love your coffee — or tea, I don’t discriminate) when you come to fill your mug up with hot water it will dispense what is classed as a normal amount of water to fill a mug. For me this then leaves a fair bit of the mug unfilled and by pressing the ‘on’ button again it will mean another cup full of water will be dispensed. My wife would consider this water to be very hot, but because I apparently have an ‘asbestos mouth’ I need to heat this up again in the microwave to reach the temperature that I like my drinks at,I think this machine could have been slightly modified to allow the user to dispense the water for as long as the user needed. Otherwise it’s a matter of turning the machine off to get the water to stop (which doesn’t always work). But I do like this machine, despite this one tiny issue, and I definitely would recommend it to everyone because for the price it is ‘absolutely brilliant’.

Best Boiling NewsI love this thing. I’m testing it out before giving it to my 94 year old mother for her birthday. True, I had my doubts but as she currently uses what is no more than a Hotel kettle to brew a cup and she still has to pour boiling water into a cup or mug I worry.I’ve test driven it for a week before her birthday and it’s so simple and safe to use (and economical as it measures a 250ml cup volume) my push button Mum will love it.If 250 ml is too much the overflow tray is big enough to take spillage (or overflow if you know what I mean…oops). If the water reservoir runs dry it cuts off.The water is hot and good for a tea or coffee brew (or Bovril. Horlicks etc. if you’re so inclined).I like it so much I’m going to buy one for myself to replace my ageing Cuisinart Kettle (which cost 150% more 4 years ago)

  6. L. E. Kanellis

The most appalling invention since the creation of headlice.Gah! Don’t buy one of these! In principle it sounds wonderful and I was suckered by all the positive reviews. BUT. It’s only great if you’re a hermit who drinks small cups of tea, or if your taste buds are unrefined enough not to mind the taste of reboiled water.Fancy a cup of tea? Not a problem. Press the button and your water comes into your cup automatically.Need to make another cup for your friend? Not a problem. Press the button again AND WAIT FOR THE WATER TO REBOIL FOR ANOTHER THIRTY SECONDS DESPITE HAVING BOILED AN INSTANT AGO.Need hot water for a pan? Not a problem. Stand there like a lemon and reboil the flipping kettle eleventy million times until you have enough hot water.GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Don’t buy it! Don’t buy it! It’s a pain in the bum!!!!!!!!! We ended up buying another (normal!!) kettle after three days. Be warned.

  7. CraftyTeacher

Yeah! No more trying to lift a kettle…An easy to use piece of kit that means that you are not lifting a hot kettle when your wrists are not great. Also, you are only hearing 250ml of water at a time — perfect for a decent cuppa (I am of the earl grey, hot persuasion!).Downsides are that it dispenses 250ml which is annoying if you are trying to make instant porridge! On the positives again, only heating 250ml at a time means freshly boiled water each time and you are only heating that amount, so no waste of electricity M

  8. Ashley Scott

We’ve had this now for few weeks… …We’ve had this now for few weeks… it works perfectly. Be aware that it only boils a 1 standard size mug full, so if you’re wanting a tea cup measure it’s likely to overflow (but just fill a mug or jug and then pour it into your cup ;)). We’ve also found it accommodates our 2 x coffee cup cafetiere.

  9. ann

… can i not say about the hot cup i love it makes my coffee in seconds with just enough …what can i not say about the hot cup i love it makes my coffee in seconds with just enough hot water i have very swollen hands and i cant lift a normal kettle without pain so i fill my hot cup with a jug why i never brought one years ago i don’t know but i will be getting another for my bedroom table its fab i get 6 mugs of coffee out of a full tank with enough space in the mug so you don’t spill anything as you carry your mug away ive recommended this to friends and family its that good water temp is great too

  10. Jay Dee

Sadly this did not meet expectations.I had bought a previous Breville water heater that dispensed a cup of hot water in 2019.It worked very efficiently and did a good job without splattering hot water all over the place and without making enough noise to wake my neighbour!I saw this newer model on Amazon Warehouse and foolishly thought it would be somewhat of an upgrade as mine was 2 years old and as I live in a hard water area it was showing signs of limescale etc.How wrong I was — this newer and somewhat bigger model failed on every count as a replacement plus the splattering hot water was quite concerning and the boiling noise finally got on my nerves enough to warrant a call to Amazon to request a return.Amazon Prime really does do ‘what it says on the tin’ and the customer service agent I spoke to could not have been more helpful. Problem solved by way of a refund and I am back to using my older Breville water heater.Newer does not always mean better — or so it seems.Thank you for your time in reading my feedback/review – I hope it may have helped you in your buying decision. If this feedback/review has helped in any way please be kind enough to click on ‘Helpful’.
