Loving itI got this for my little girl she loves bluey and loves the book. She wont put it down

  2. Amazon Customer

Brilliant bookMy 4 yr old granddaughter loves to watch Bluey on TV and this book was a great success.

Cheap looking bookShame as we love bluey and have other books. This one is small, not the full story and looks cheaply put together!

Just the job for a 3 year-old Bluey fanMy three year-old nephew loves Bluey – who is becoming more of favourite than the Paw Patrol pups, so this book was just the ticket for him. I wouldn’t normally choose a board book for him, but the story is a perfectly good length for a three-year old. The book is full of pictures of Bluey and family that live up to expectations. The story begins with Bluey and Bingo playing at being Grannies, then video chatting with their Nana to try to discover the answer to a vitally important question: can grannies floss?I liked that this book features some very normal parts of modern life, including calls to granny being made via video chat… and Nana being a bit hopeless at correctly lining up the camera (my Mum is a shocker for this, so my nephew can definitely relate here!).There’s a decent life lesson in here too: about whether it’s always best to worry about being right.

It helps if you’ve seen the show…Our four year old loves Bluey, and he was already familiar with the “Can Grannies Floss” episode of the show that this book is based on. To be honest it helps to be familiar with the show — and the episode — before reading this 24 page board book. Whilst the illustrations are bright and funny, the text is so badly written that I had trouble figuring out what was happening. In the story Bluey and Bingo have dressed up as Grannies, but when they start fooling around and Bingo starts to floss, Bluey wonders — can grannies floss? We have fun reading the book together, but I just can’t help feeling that if it was transferred from TV to book form with a little more care, it could have been so much better.

Engaging story and picturesAnother great Bluey book for the collection! Bluey is my 3 year-old daughter’s favorite show and we have a fair collection going through the house. My daughter particularly loves the episodes where Bluey and Bingo pretend to be grannies, so we knew she would love this story. The book is a sturdy hardback with good, thick board pages that will stand the test of time with an impatient toddler. The illustrations are bright, engaging and true to the show, and the story is enjoyable for both toddler and parent. Thanks for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Nice bookMy 2 year old is Bluey mad and so we all know the grannies flossing episode very well like all of them. It’s pretty much the episode in book speak which our daughter enjoys because she already knows the story and loves Bluet so can pretend to read the book to us by telling us what’s happening on each page by memory. The illustrations are identical to the cartoon which is good, the colours are bright and the quality of the book is very good. Can’t beat a bit of Bluey, amusing for the adults as well as the kids.

A moral in the tale? This is obviously designed to try to show young children that it’s not always the best thing to be right! But unfortunately this book was a little confusing to read at times and didn’t flow as well as it could have done. It’s quite funny when Bluey and Bingo pretend to be grannies but for me it felt a little uncomfortable and ageist even though it was obviously trying to do the exact opposite. So I felt it lost it’s way a little bit although the 3 year old found it quite entertaining.

  9. Rochycoo

Solid pagesBoard books are great for kids under 3 as they are almost impossible to damage. This one is suitable for when your child will sit still for more than a minute or 2 as it’s got a few words on each pages and short story for them to follow unlike other board books which tend to have single words. As a nanny I found it quite amusing but I did find the illustrations a bit repetitive with very little of interest in some of the backgrounds.Hope you found my review helpful

Funny and enjoyableMy 6 year old is slightly obsessed with Bluey so this was a bit of a hit in our house and bedtime story routine. She has told me to write that she likes the bit where ‘Rita’ says ”I slipped on ma beans!” but she didn’t like the bit where Bluey and Bingo are fighting. In terms of difficulty, my 6 year old seemed to handle it well and didn’t need to ask for much help.Looking forward to picking up some more Bluey books in future.
