Even toasting on artisan long slicesThis toaster toasts evenly on both sides! And it will fit artisan bread in its long slots, no need to cut them in half any more. When you depress the lever to lower the bread into the appliance it feels nice and solid, and gives a firm click into place. The display lights up to tell you what browning level you have selected and then changes to a countdown to the pop-up of the finished toast. The instruction booklet gives a bit of guidance on what number range to choose for the different degrees of toasting. The outer shell is a nice matt black/grey finish which (if it bothers you) looks very nice on the worktop.I am very pleased with this toaster, its performance and its looks get a thumbs up from me.

Lasted a couple of months and some elements stopped working. Excellent support from Seller/ArendoStarted of great. Nice long slots, perfect for bakery bread. However, over a couple of months use, about 1/3rd of the elements are no longer heating up. Very disappointing.Returning for a refund after an escalation via the Amazon Product Support team as the normal Return window had closed. The Seller (Arendo) also reached out when they saw that I was having issues with the toaster and promptly sent out a replacement to me free. I purchased from them several years ago and they have done the same thing before — promptly replaced a toaster when faulty during the warranty period.Great features and functions, looks great.….….plus good service from the Seller (not so helpful Amazon though)

Another toaster that can’t toastI just wanted a toaster to toast a normal uk cut loaf. The dark one is on setting 4 and light is sideways on setting 2. And still it doesn’t toast all the bread. I’m feed up with keep turning the bread half way through. Also it was red hot to touch the toaster after.

  4. Amazon Customer

Can’t toast a full slice of bread fgsI mean…a toaster has ONE job…to toast a a slice of bread and this very expensive toaster STILL can’t toast a full slice of English style bread. Beggars belief.

  5. Coastal_Dweller

Slots too shallow for standard sliced bread, even on its side!Seemingly well made unit though the functional design is severely flawed. The fundamental problem is that this toaster does not take the bread slices deep enough into its slots. The heating/toasting elements are large and have the potential to do a good job, but standard sliced bread protrudes well out of the top and so stays untoasted in this region — see pictureThe internal cavity depth and toasting elements are more than deep enough to do a good job, but the mechanism is designed in such a way that the bread is not taken down far enough into the cavity — see picture. The Morphy Richards toaster that this was bought to replace, was the same overall height, but allowed the bread a full 25mm further in.Unit was reluctantly sent back as not fit for purpose — shame as the looks are good and construction robust, let down by poor mechanism design.

It has one job…it doesn’t do it.We were hoping for a toaster that a) toasted 4 pieces and b) toasted two long Pieces as the bread maker sometimes makes tall loaves. Unfortunately it does neither and we’re back to square one with toasters. I’m not sure how this became an Amazon recommended product. If you want normal toast its fine as long as you only expect ⅔ of it toasted and expect to turn it around and put it in again, using twice the electricity. Agreed it can toast 2 long pieces as long as again you dont mind a part untoasted. Big disappointment…back to the drawing board with toasters. Not a happy toaster.

Nice Looks, Poor DesignI don’t want to get all existential, but what value is a toaster that doesn’t do the one job required of it very well? Yes, this toasts bread. Or at least it toasts some part of the bread you put in it. But that’s not really the full story.Let’s get the first bit out of the way. I like the way this toaster looks. The presence of the countdown timer is a nice if ultimately pointless addition (I know the toast is done when it pops up, thanks!). The slots are wide, and the addition of the toasting rack is good.Unfortunately, that’s where the good review ends. I didn’t want a four-slice toaster. I like having wider slots so I can toast odd-shaped bread including larger unsliced loaves. My last toaster was a wide-slot Breville toaster which is apparently no longer made. This one looked like an ideal replacement as it was just as tall and wide, but a little slimmer. The problem stems from the fact that despite this toaster being just as deep as my old toaster, the slices don’t go down nearly as far as they could do. When you put the slices in and push the lever down, there’s at least an extra inch of room for the bread to go down which isn’t being used. As a result, even with pretty regular sliced loaves, the one edge of the bread doesn’t toast even when laid on it’s side. It honestly doesn’t make any sense. A slight change of spring, or the lever mechanism being tweaked so that the toast goes down further and this would be fine.I honestly cannot recommend this toaster either for toasting 4 slices or for 2. It’s really not fit for purpose, which seems to be the case for every wide-slot toaster I’ve looked at. How it got through basic product testing, I really don’t know. Unless German bread is much longer and thinner than UK bread, it seems like it would only have required 1–2 attempts at toasting to show that it doesn’t do what it’s meant to.I really hope someone can make a wide slot toaster that just works. I’m happy to take recommendations.

ExcellentLooks good and works well. I got this because I couldn’t find a toaster that did thick-sliced bread that was too long for conventional toasters. It also has a digital timer so you know how long the toast will take.

  9. Audrey H.

Makes perfect toast time after time.Very nice in Matt black The higher wattage this toaster employes makes perfect toast it browns the outside but leaves the inside soft. Lower powered toasters tend to dry out the bread.the raised rack works well with buns etc. The blue digital read out tells you also the chosen temperature and then a countdown timer until the toast is done. All in all it is the best toaster I have ever owned. Top marks.

  10. MR K GRAY

DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE IN THE UKThis toaster looks great, but its exceptionally poor to useUK sized slices (normal sliced bread, nothing fancy) wont fully fit in (1 inch pokes out of the top), meaning they have to be placed sideways — this reduces the toaster from 4 slot to 2 slot. AwfulThe browning control is equally rubbish — its either not toasted, or burnt. Ive used it now for a month and its going in the bin sadly
